0.6.1 Speedrun update!


New update! Fixed some pet peeves of mine as well as added some things I've thought about for quite a while, but I just haven't had the motivation to make them. I think the polish in this update is going to go a long way in making the finished product eventually be so much better!

I haven't only worked on polish, some cool new stuff too! Though this update isn't for the coolest updates quite yet. But a new boss might be coming quite soon!¨

Changes:

  • Added an in-game timer
    • It records the time it takes you to play the story mode
    • Playing from the level selection menu allows you to time any level individually
      • After a level, you can choose to retry the level, quit or go to the next level
    • Timer can be toggled on and off from the "Gameplay" section in options. (Previously "Difficulty")
    • The timer stops when you read signs, talk to NPCs or pause the game 
  • Improved camera controls
    • Pressing down while not climbing makes the camera shift down
    • Camera should be more centered when running now
  • Removed the ability to turn bubble flowers around, replaced this with a new mechanic
  • Added buttons to reset moving blocks in certain levels
  • Moving blocks now reset their position if they fall outside of the level
  • Tweaks and changes to levels
  • Added button prompts to various different objects (NPCs, signs and places where you can sit for example.)
  • Lots of visual improvements
    • Many plants and other decorations now sway slightly
    • New decorations and effects
  • Player is now ever so slightly faster in the air
    • Player also gains a tiny bit of speed with jumps (Doesn't override the max speed)
  • Added options to toggle screen shake and button prompts
  • Made bouncing related functions more reliable
  • Made moving platforms more reliable
  • Adjustments to the dialog system
  • Bug fixes
